Inn is a traditional 9 bedroom Lakeland Inn dating in parts from 1578 that nestles in a magnificent setting amidst some of the most beautiful scenery in England. There is a traditional bar with log fire, a beamed restaurant ,

a spacious conservatory, a games room and a drying/boot room. Outside there is a beer garden where we hold barbecues in summer, a play area for children and the kitchen garden. Well behaved dogs are most welcome. There are a myriad of walks from the doorstep. Why not come and spend a few days in this most beautiful corner of the Lake District. Your hosts Francis and Lesley would like to assure you of the warmest of Lakeland welcomes at the Boot Inn.
The Boot Inn won the Les Routiers Real Ale Pub of the Year Award for Great Britain 2005, and also CAMRA Real Ale Pub of the Season Autumn 2005

The Lutwidge Arms Hotel

The Lutwidge Arms is a Victorian roadside inn with a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

Dating back to around 1850, and taking the family name of the Lutwidges of Holmrook Hall (who included Lewis Carroll of Alice in Wonderland fame) it combined the roles of working farm and inn for many years. The hotel looks out over the River Irt, containing Salmon and Sea Trout, to the high Lakeland Fells.
