Parking In Eskdale

Below is a list of the dedicated areas to park your car in he Eskdale area. Please note that the narrow roads do not lend themselves to parking on the side of the roads, and much congestion is caused if people park in the passing places.

Miterdale

There is parking at the top of the Miterdale road for people using the woods. To get to this take the road past the Eskdale Green School and park by the bridge

Eskdale Green

There is limited parking at the phone box near to the Post office and Outward bound. This often gets busy.

The Ratty station has car parking for people using the train only

Brantake, there is a small car park opposite Brantake crag mainly used by climbers

Dalegarth

The main Ratty station has a pay and display car park next to the station.

Doctors bridge

there is parking here for people who are walking in the woods, along the river and visiting the waterfalls

Boot

Parking in boot is limited to individual business car parks for use by people visiting those businesses

Hare Crag

There is limited parking under Hare Crag again normally used by people climbing here

Hard Knott

There is parking at the base of Hard Knott pass as well as up by the old Roman Fort
