High House is a 300High House is a 300-year-old country home nestled high on an escarpment over looking the Eskdale Valley.  High House has a secluded garden with adjoining private 8-acre wood, which leads down to the Irt River that flows from Wastwater Lake to the sea at Ravenglass once an ancient Roman port.  The property sits on the edge of the village of Holmrook and within the Lake District with rolling rural farming open countryside just inland from the West Cumbria coast.  High House boasts of panoramic views of Harter Fell and surrounding fells at the head of the Eskdale Valley.  We would like your stay with us to be as comfortable as you are at home (if not more so).  Our three rooms (two double and one king size) are thoughtfully styled, luxuriously furnished and generously equipped. We try to include everything in your room that you might want or need.

Wasdale View Self Catering, Holmerook

Situated in the village of Holmrook , Wasdale View is a newly converted barn with fantastic views across the Wasdale Fells and ideally situated for access to the Wasdale and Eskdale valley's as well as great evening strolls on the beach.

The cottage sleeps 5 to 6 people, 1 Double Room, 1 twin Room and a single with a pull out bed and is furnished to a high standard.

Wha House Cottage, Self catering in Upper Eskdale

Set in the beautiful surroundings of Upper Eskdale, Wha House is a working farm with approximately 800 sheep. The cottage is ideal for walkers wanting to explore the quieter side of the Lakes. There are hundreds of walks right from the door – climb up Scafell (the highest mountain in England) or Harter fell, or hike across the fells to Wasdale and Wastwater (the deepest lake in England), or follow the valley bottom, alongside the river Esk, past Stanley Gyhll waterfall and on to Ravenglass Estuary. Pets are welcome and riders who would like to bring their horse to explore the countryside can house their horse on the farm itself.

Bridge End Farm consists of 7 luxury self-catering Lake District cottages, situated in the stunning location of Eskdale at the end of the picturesque village of Boot. The accommodation is comprehensively equipped to the English Tourism Council's 4 and 5 Stars Standard.

No longer a working farm, Bridge End - as its name implies, has an idyllic setting at the end of the picturesque village of Boot beside a beautiful 17th Century packhorse bridge over the tumbling Whillan Beck. One of the Lake District's "scenic hamlets" Boot, nestles beneath mighty Scafell and despite having only some twenty to thirty residents boasts a church, post office, craft shop, corn mill museum and two traditional inns.


Reached down a quaint cobbled lane; these are romantic cottages of tremendous charm, character and quality. All accommdation has ancient oak beams, local pink granite stonework, fine oak kitchens, period style bathrooms and sumptuous furnishings. All have double glazing, full gas central heating, powerful showers, colour TV, oven, hob, microwave and dishwasher. Small cottages have a fridge with freezer compartment; large cottages have a seperate fridge and freezer. Large cottages also have a video player. All bathrooms have over bath showers. All cottages have CD radio cassette players. Sorry, we do not take pets.


Grounds of ¾ of an acre with a delightful walled garden and larger riverside paddock. Barbecues and plenty of garden furniture. Laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer. On your arrival, you will find your cottage warm; beds made up, a welcome tray, fresh milk in the fridge and flowers from the garden (in season)

Irton Hall Cottages

These two bedroomed cottages are built in traditional style and set within the grounds of the magnificent Irton Hall.  Each cottage enjoys the full benefits of this peaceful parkland setting, itself located in a quiet, yet particularly beautiful area of West Cumbria.  Each cottage has been tastefully constructed to reflect traditional style with use of stone and rendered walls under tiled roofs.  Internally the modern comfortable accommodation is well appointed and furnished.

Headfield Cottage : Nether Wasdale

Headfield Cottage is an 18th century detached property with 2 bedrooms sleeping 4/6 persons, attractive south facing garden and lovely views up to the Wasdale fells.  It is very conveniently situated in the heart of the village, which boasts a handful of houses, a Church and 2 pubs (The Strands and The Screes,  both providing excellent food and real ale).It is one mile from Wastwater and surrounded by open countryside.
