Transport in Eskdale

Train Services

The main line train service has stations at Ravenglass and Seascale. Eskdale can then be reached on the Ratty narrow gauge railway.

Bus services

Bus services to the area are poor at best, a sporadic service connects Ravenglass and Muncaster to Whitehaven, more details can be found by contacting stagecoach.

From Seascale there is a daily service to Whitehaven and St. Bees

Taxis

The are Taxis in both Gosforth and Seascale which operate throughtout the area. A taxi bus serves Wasdale twice a week at a subsidised rate.

Muncaster Microbus

Muncaster Microbus are a registered charity and limited company run by a group of unpaid volunteers servicing Wasdale, Eskdale, Muncaster and Ravenglass

The vehicle used is an Iveco minibus with 15 seats or 12 seats and two wheelchairs.

Currently they run regular weekly shopping trips to Whitehaven on Tuesdays and Thursdays and day trips every other Saturday throughout the year. On one Wednesday in each month there is a trip to Workington or Cockermouth
